Did you know that Jefferson Davis Hwy runs almost through our Nations Capital in Washington DC to this day? In Arlington VA it runs parallel to the George Washington Memorial Pkwy. Some interesting links....http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/infrastructure/jdavis.htm &

What is the largest monument to an American? The Jefferson Davis National Highway, which begins in Washington, D.C., and covers 3,417 miles as it passes through 173 counties and 13 states.
