We are much concerned with the fact that those in the public body of the House of Representatives believe that they have the right to make apologies on behalf of the people of this country for the actions of any other man or woman besides themselves especially those who are no longer here to represent themselves. There can be no debate from those not living who cannot rise up to defend themselves whether they consider their actions or beliefs to be right or wrong. But for those of us who are living it is our duty to make sure that we defend those who cannot defend themselves while at the same time demand that our elected representatives do what is right and not act autonomously.
It is up to any American to make an apology for any action they have committed - if that person sees fit.
If those in the body of the House of Representatives or any other body believe otherwise, then it is also left open that we, among the populace of the American people – the United States of America, have the right to apologize for the actions of the House of Representatives in its attempt(s) to make apologies for those long gone before. Those now living cannot know what was in the minds of anyone who came before those of us in a time other than now. We did not live in that time. We can only imagine what was and learn from history – true history.
We also question how anyone in this day and time can know with any certainty whether any man, woman, or child would have a better life or future than where they are now. We cannot know because we cannot go back in time and change one thing. How can anyone prove “lingering consequences of the misdeeds committed against any person under slavery and Jim Crow” in this day and time? How can anyone prove that those who came from any country whether it was on a slave ship or any other were better or worse after coming to this land? How can anyone know or prove that offspring from generation to generation of those that came before us have or have not benefited more here in America or whether they would have benefited more or less to have stayed at their country of origin? No one can possibly know because nothing can be changed to answer those questions.
History is history. We should learn from it, we should go on. We should all make the best of what we have. We should appreciate what we have. We should appreciate this Country. There is none other like it. We must not destroy it!
But destroy it is exactly what is happening because there are those in the land who don’t love it. There are those who totally ignore the sacrifices of those who came before us right or wrong. There are those who do not want to stand on their own two feet and support themselves and their own. There are those who believe that government and the citizens of this country owe them. As long as the law makers of this land encourage such a system generation after generation, The United States will become weaker and weaker until it can stand no more.
We ask that you instill constantly in every citizen in this great Country that they are Americans and that we are the United States of America. Encourage pride and love of her. Our ancestors all came from other countries – wantonly or not. To continually support the cancer of divisiveness and dissension among the peoples of America is wrong and will do nothing less than destroy us. To continually suggest that one person, one race, one section of this Country is less fortunate than the other is wrong. To teach, encourage, and perpetuate victimization among those of this Nation is wrong. To encourage, teach, and suggest that some among us must be dependent on others is an injustice to the human race – worse, in our opinion than slavery itself. It teaches weakness and hatred among her peoples.
Rather, we suggest that that you defend this nation. Encourage her people. Keep this Country strong. It is not too late, it’s never too late.
Thank you Carolyn, now lets gets this out to as many Congresspeople we can. George, as you know I am overseas and to mail mass letters is a little challenge for me, not impossibile but difficult. I would like to suggest that we get someone State side to take this of this. Making SHAPE ltter head is easy, just copy and past our logo and wa la. We need to make this a coordinated effort and we can either send hard copies out or email them out. What do you all suggest?
I like the hard copy idea. We can always deduct it on our taxes (I THink). My printer is not that good but I will try to run off a sheet and see how it looks.
Sheree has finished printing our response to all of the sponsors of this bill. I will have to sign and mail them. To date we have not received any reply what-so-ever from any of the 60 or so members of The House of representatives we have sent this letter to. I suppose they are so ashamed of their actions they will not respond.

Once these letters are sent I will try to change the letterhead from the old Logo to the new logo. Will let everyone know how that comes out. We will still own the old logo and may use it from time to time.
No problem. With that issue behind us I am going to start on the Gettysburg issue. I have not scanned the letter yet but will do so tomorrow. Would like you me to send you the scans? My intention is to point out the mis-representation of history to my representatives.
George I sent you the new logo didn't I? if not let me know and I will send it so you can chnage our letterhead. Even my Congressmen did not respond and they are usually pretty good about responding to my letters. COWARDS COMES TO MIND
