I will try to get to the "meeting" if at all possible.

I would suggest that the agenda be e-mailed to the participants. If we know what we're going to be discussing, we won't have to waste time setting up the discussion. It works well every time I've seen it used and more gets done because folks have had a chance to consider the matters prior to the meeting.

First order of business will be to elect a new president.

2nd table any new projects or ideas. After that we can just get to know each other a bit.

Then we'd best know who is eligible and/or wants the position. Again, it's a waste of time to try to get all of this ironed out at the "chat" itself. Those eligible and who want it should have their credentials and anything that they want to say to the membership in a document and however many of such should be e-mailed to all eligible to participate. That will save a TON of time and possible confusion and mistakes.

I don't know that any criteria has been set to be president. I'll have to check on it.

It's not just that. I don't even know how many folks could BE president - or who would want to fill that office. I remember one (real) meeting when we wasted a lot of time nominating folks who didn't want to run! We should have the names of willing souls and they should know what they will be obligated to do under the office. That will save a lot of trouble trying to find out if this or that person would be willing to serve.

I cannot find anything that states any requirements for holding any office in SHAPE. We have always been sort of a loose knit group until the last breakup. I suppose some sort of qualifications should be addressed at some point within the next year.

George, Lady Val please go to the members section and read my response, I think its more appropriate we discuss this type of issue in private amongst ourselves. And I have never seen any By Laws that address the personal character and qualifications of its Officers, I think that’s a given based on each Org

Sorry to be so stupid, but where IS the "members section"? I don't see it but maybe I'm not looking for the right thing.

I have nothing listed as a forum under Articles. I went into the Articles Forum but saw nothing in there indicative of a "members only" thread. I'm sorry to be so stupid, but we is what we is!

Check it out now. I had not moved you over to the members section. My fault, my apologies.

Sorry, still ends with "Articles". I guess I'm as hard to move in cyberspace as in plain old three dimensional space.

Hey, Y'all,

This is the first time I've been on in a few days and see where we are to have a meeting tomorrow at 7:00 P.M. I will be there if possible, too. If you don't see me, I either couldn't make it or couldn't figure it all out since I've never done that before. I'm really pretty green on all this.

I just checked out 'chat.' That's a really good picture beside my name. My husband may want to put that one in a frame.

I remember the horse emails, George. LOL It's cold again tonight - poor horse.

Sorry folks. Emergency came up and I just got home. Checked into "chat room" but everybody had gone home, I guess.

Let me know what I missed. Seems like I have no social calender, but when things do happen, they all happen at the same time.
