The General Barton & Stovall History Heritage Association is open to descendants and interested persons of soldiers in the 40th, 41st, 42nd, 43rd, and 52nd Georgia Volunteer Infantry Brigade. Nearly 7,000 north Georgia men from 33 counties served in the Georgia Brigade, which enlisted at Big Shanty (Kennesaw) GA and saw action in the Western Theatre. If you would like to know if your ancestor was possible a soldier in the Georgia Brigade, check your library for Confederate 7,000 by Gary Goodson, Sr, which includes names by regiment and company.
