Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, 8/30/22 While watching the video of your speech at the CPAC convention given on August 6, 2022 and hearing you speak out against the public school indoctrination taking place in this country, it quickly became evident that you have swallowed the very indoctrination which you speak against. Honoring Joshua Chamberlain of the 20th Maine Infantry, who belonged to an army of murderers, looters, arsonists, and rapists, is beneath the dignity of a Southern Christian gentleman. Our Confederate ancestors, contrary to popular opinion and contrary to what is taught in our schools and universities, were not fighting for the protection and perpetuation of slavery, but for independence and in the defense of their homes and families from an invading army.
We have heard for over 150 years how the “North was fighting to free the slaves”, while there were still more than 429,000 slaves in the Union after the South seceded. Why were these slaves not worthy of being freed before Lincoln illegally invaded the legally seceded South? Lincoln’s war was not waged with nobleness and honor to free anyone, but was waged for the continued collection of unfair and unconstitutional tariffs being extracted from the South for the benefit of the North, and to subjugate the South. His armies pillaged, burned and raped their way across the South, leaving poor, starving, destitute civilians, black and white, in their wake. There is no honor in what they did.
Nothing is ever mentioned about how it was the New England Yankees who worked the slave trade, sailing ships built by slaves and flying Old Glory high above the decks of these ships. It is the South that must always remain at the altar of repentance for slavery, even though it would not have existed without the New England Yankees. Nothing is ever said about the thousands of free blacks who owned black slaves during that time, or that slavery was a dying institution and already on the way out.
We hear nothing about the great revivals that took place in the Confederate camps and the many thousands of soldiers who came to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. These soldiers were led by real heroes like Robert E. Lee and “Stonewall” Jackson who were fine examples of Christian manhood.
It is beyond sad, and criminal, that so many have been lied to for so long about The War of Northern Aggression and why it was fought. The Lincoln Myth continues to be shoved down throats today as well. Lincoln was a despot and a tyrant who freed not one solitary slave with his Emancipation Proclamation. To prove this, one needs only to read it.
Our Confederate ancestors fought for independence and the right to self-government, and against oppression and tyranny, just as their colonial ancestors did against King George III. “Study to show thyself approved” does not only apply to Scripture.
