Apparently, according to the History Channel's two programs on "Sex in the Civil War", Southern prostitutes did as much damage to the Yankees as the Confederate military!

I believe it was in Memphis that the Union first legalized prostitution. If I recall correctly the Hitsory Channel statedthis was the first time doctors certificates were issued to the ladies???
