The Virginia Historical Society has decided to create a Free Slave Data base to list all the slave documents associated with Virginia.

http://www.independentmail.com/news/2011/mar/06/vhs-create-slave-name-database/

I wrote the VHS President Paul A. Levengood, and asked if the same sort of database would be created for white slaves, Confederate soldiers and perhaps Indians. At this time I have not received an answer, nor do I expect one.

If anyone would like to write Levengood his email is plevengood©vahistorical.org The VHS website is at http://www.vahistorical.org/
